Sunday Morning Church School

Youth Church School classes begin at 9:45am and end at 10:45am.  This is a time where we study the Bible, the things of God and the sacred acts of worship to develop a deeper understanding of God and ourselves.  Our goal is to apply this knowledge and deeper understanding to our daily lives.

Sunday Afternoon Youth Choir

Youth Choir is for all youth in grades 6-12 regardless of musical experience.  The choir prepares choral music in a wide variety of musical styles during the weekly rehersal from 5:45pm-6:30pm.  Members provide musical leadership and engage in special events throughout the year.  The Youth Choir is a great place for our busy young people to develop basic choral singing skills that will serve them for a life-time of enjoyment in choral singing.

Sunday Evening Fellowship

Fellowship is for all youth.  We feed our youth dinner from 6:30pm-7:00pm.  Our Youth then divide into Junior High (6th-8th) and Senior High (9th-12th) for fellowship, which is from 7:00pm – 8:00pm.  This program emphasizes our relationship with Christ and with each other providing service, recreation, and worship opportunities.

Wednesday Night Bible Studies

Wednesday Night Bible Studies are for all our youth.  The groups are divided by grade levels and meet in the homes of our Bible study leaders.  The purpose of these groups is to commit to a weekly gathering time to intentionally learn more about Jesus and the Bible.  We make a commitment to each other in heart, spirit, friendship, and vulnerability for an extended period of time.  This is a time when we build a deep relationship with God through the study of the Bible and through sincere relationships with one another.

Other Opportunities for Youth Involvement

  • Summer Mission Trips - Our goal for our youth and leaders is that their lives will be transformed as they begin to see their stories as a part of God's big, ongoing story ... something so much bigger than they ever imagined. Through meaningful service activities, group exercises, prayer and intentional times for reflection.

Summer 2012

Jr. High Mission Trip to Brazosport, Tx on July 19-22 with Faith In Action of Brazosport

Sr. High Mission Trip to Joplin, Mo on July 1-7 with Next Step Ministries

  • SHYC (Senior High Youth Connection) - A mid-winter yearly retreat held in Sherman, Texas at Austin College for all 9th-12th graders in Grace Presbytery.  The weekend includes leadership opportunities in drama, music, and recreation as well as small group gatherings, group building, worship, and a variety of Saturday afternoon workshops of interest to the youth.
  • Junior High Retreats - A fall and spring weekend event for all 6th-8th graders in Grace Presbytery focusing on worship, small group opportunities, recreations, and group building.  Campsites are normally Camp Gilmont, or Pinecove.
  • Summer Program – This program is for all youth.  We offer a number of events to keep our youth connected to Christ and to each other through out the summer.  We spend time together at theme parks, paintballing, baseball games, the movie theater, VBS, etc. to build relationships outside the walls of the church building.  In doing so, the youth realize that you can have fun and serve Christ at the same time.  Also, that Christ is not simply in the building but is everywhere present and can be worshiped wherever we may be.
