Music & Worship

Chancel Choir

Dedicated to spreading God's word through the power of music, the twenty voice Chancel Choir of First Presbyterian Church is the center of a vital music ministry.  Under the leadership of Dr. Richard Holsomback, the Chancel Choir provides music for Sunday worship, conducts community outreach concerts in the greater East Texas area, and has performed overseas at the International Choral Festival at Coventry Cathedral in 2008.

We invite you to learn more about our choir and join us for worship the next time you're in the Longview area.  If you're interested in joining our choir, please join us any Wednesday night in the choir room from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Membership is open to anyone with an interest in singing.

Carillon Ringers

Handbell ringing has been a long-held tradition of excellence here at
First Presbyterian Church, ringing regularly for worship and special
events.  Directed by Laurie Bruce and Janet Read, Carillion members
posses an exceptional talent and passion for ringing at the highest
artistic level for the glory of God.

This dedicated group of musicians gather for rehearsal and fellowship
every Wednesday night from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Righteous Ringers

Our youth ringers (6th-12th grade) lead worship several times per year, including Advent and Youth Sundays. The group has played in both local and regional Presbyterian churches - they are always looking to go on tour! The group meets on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 PM before youth group at 5:30 PM.
