Meet  Our Pastor

Reverend Kendal Land 

Reverend Kendal Land was called to First Presbyterian church (FPC) of Longview in July, 2014. He previously served as head pastor for First Presbyterian Church of Arkadelphia, Arkansas for nearly nine years and First Presbyterian of Russellville, Kentucky for three years.  A lifelong Presbyterian and LSU graduate, Kendal received his M.Div. from Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia in 2003. He is currently pursuing his D.Min. from Denver Seminary.

Kendal and his wife, Lauren, met while in college at LSU (Geaux Tigers!) and have three children: twins Jackson Camper and Carlisle and Evangeline "Evie" Claire.  An avid outdoorsman and NOLS graduate, Kendal enjoys fishing and hiking, biking and an occasional 5K.  He is an amateur craft brewer, "CrossFit chaplain" and expert handyman and chef at the Land home.  He is also an award winning crawfish eater and dancer.

Since moving to Longview, Kendal has become actively involved with Grace Presbytery, Newgate Mission and serves as a board member for Mo-Ranch Camp and Conference Center and One Longview.  He was recognized by the Longview Chamber of Commerce as an Emerging Leader in 2017 and is Leadership Longview Class of 2016 graduate. During his tenure in Arkansas, Kendal completed Leadership Clark County and was actively involved with Arkansas Presbytery, Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center, Mo-Ranch and Group Living, Inc.
